A 30-MEMBER security force will join the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) in cracking down on illegal workers from today.
LMRA chief executive Ausamah Al Absi inaugurated the squad as part of the new phase of a comprehensive strategy to tackle the issue.
He met members of the squad and was assured on their preparedness to put an end to the issue of illegal expatriate workers, estimated to be around 52,000.
LABOUR Market Regulatory Authority’s (LMRA) policies were criticised by business owners during a meeting of the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) committee at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters. (more…)

EXPATRIATE workers risk becoming illegal if they fail to update their details with the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA), a top official has warned.
