LMRA gives up issuing CPRs

IDENTITY cards will no longer be issued by the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) from Wednesday.

The LMRA has processed part of the Central Population Register (CPR) services for the past three months, but is now handing responsibility for CPR cards back over to the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO).

Man caught selling LMRA tokens for BD1

A BAHRAINI, caught yesterday selling appointment tokens at the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) claimed he was only trying to help the expatriates.

He was caught after the LMRA was tippped off by the GDN.

BD500 fine is urged for runaway workers despite objections

RUNAWAY workers could soon be fined up to BD500 if caught before being deported from the country.

MPs yesterday voted in favour of the amendment to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) law, despite objections from Labour Minister Dr Majeed Al Alawi, who said that it was against conventions Bahrain had signed and implemented.
