LMRA counter opened at Lulu Hypermarket

A special counter has been opened at Lulu Hypermarket to encourage expats to register their contact details with the LMRA.  The counter located at the hypermarket in Sanabis allows people to fill out the Labour Market Regulatory Authority’s (LMRA) Foreign Workers Details Card. (more…)

How much longer?

I have been trying for my wife’s visa for the last three-and-a-half months. But I am hugely disappointed by the way things work here.
For the first one month, I wasn’t able to apply because my information wasn’t updated on the LMRA website.
When I was finally able to apply, the LMRA abruptly changed the rule, making it compulsory for the wife’s passport to bear the husband’s name, and my wife’s visa was rejected.

EXPATRIATES who have failed to regularise their visas due to a backlog of cases at the Health Ministry will be given one last chance to become legal, officials have declared.

Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) chief executive Ali Radhi said officials had received hundreds of calls from people saying they were given appointments for medical examinations weeks after the expiry of yesterday’s government deadline. (more…)

20,000 urged to legalise status

ABOUT 20,000 expatriates whose residence visas have not been renewed must legalise their stay before the end of this month, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) said yesterday.

It urged all business owners and government organisations to verify and complete their expatriate labour records before March 31. (more…)
