Update contact details call

AUTHORITIES are urging expatriates in Bahrain to update their contact details to receive the latest information on their legal status.

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority has posted an alert on its official website, www.lmra.bh, advising residents to submit their mobile phone numbers so they could receive text messages about the expiration status of their passports and residence permits, among other notifications.

“We have looked into the contact details in our system and found that many contact numbers/e-mail addresses are not correct,” it said on its website.

LMRA willing to help

The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) issued a statement saying they are ready to use their fingerprint database to help identify expatriates.The statement was made in light of Mr Halim’s death. The identity of the deceased was not available initially as he did not have a CPR or other identification. (more…)

Employment in Bahrain ‘up during unrest’

Employment among Bahrainis increased during the height of the unrest, according to a new report from the kingdom’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).A total of 141,263 were in work between January and April, an increase of 2.1 per cent compared with the same period last year, figures released by LMRA show. Filipino repatriated after overstaying

 A Filipino worker has been repatriated after overstaying his Bahrain work visa by nine years.The man was allowed to leave without paying huge immigration penalties and serving any time in prison thanks to the government’s Easy Exit scheme. (more…)
