Employment among Bahrainis increased during the height of the unrest, according to a new report from the kingdom’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).A total of 141,263 were in work between January and April, an increase of 2.1 per cent compared with the same period last year, figures released by LMRA show. Decree-by-Law
Wednesday, September 21st, 2011His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain also issued Decree-by-Law No. (32) for the year 2011 regarding rescinding and replacement of clause (E) of article (42) of Act No. (19) for the eyar 2006 regarding organizing LMRA as follows:
E- The LMRA shall deduct 50% from the total fees it collects and deposit the amount so deducted into the state’s public account in compliance with the procedures to be agreed upon between LMRA and the Ministry of Finance.
Fees exemption
Monday, September 19th, 2011Bahrain companies will be exempted from paying fees to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) until the end of this year. The Cabinet yesterday decided to extend the grace period till December. Payments of LMRA fees were frozen last April.
99% employers obey law
Thursday, September 8th, 2011Labour Minister Jameel Humaidan said 99 per cent employers in the Kingdom adhered to the afternoon work ban this year. He said the percentage has increased by 1pc from 98 last year.The minister said the result was achieved because of the cooperation that existed between the ministry and contractors for the past four years.
