LMRA a time waster

LMRA officials say, they have a big workload and that’s the reason for delays and confusion.

Why don’t they employ more Bahrainis then?

Ask anyone who has been to the LMRA, how much time consuming the visit is.

Why don’t they create employment for Bahrainis instead of enforcing Bahrainisation on other private companies?

If any private company needs additional visas they need to employ Bahrainis. (more…)

Chairman of Bahrain Association of Journalists Mr. Isa Al Shaiji praised the efforts done by the LMRA to regulate the labour market in Bahrain and clean-up the market from negative practices.

LMRA has organized a dedicated workshop for Journalists on Thursday 26th March to understand the figures of Labour Market Indicators which are issued by LMRA quarterly. (more…)

Show us the proof LMRA tells bosses

CONTRACTORS who took to the streets in protest over “crippling” labour fees have been asked to prove that their businesses have declined.

The call came from Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) chief executive Ali Radhi, who said the majority of companies had applied for more work visas in recent months.

“This does not justify their claim that the BD10 per month fee per expatriate worker would force them out of business,” he told the GDN. (more…)

Nurses exempted from sponsorship

NURSES working in private hospitals have also been exempted from the government’s new sponsorship rules, it was revealed yesterday.

This means they can continue under their husbands’ sponsorship while working for health institutions.

Contractors protest but LMRA stands by labour fees

Bahrain’s Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) downplayed the concerns of around 500 contractors and small business owners who held a protest this morning against government imposed labour fees.

From 9am until noon the protestors waved placards, chanted slogans and gave speeches on the steps of the LMRA headquarters in Sanabis, calling for the government to remove a monthly $26.50 (BHD 10) fee paid by employers for every expatriate worker. (more…)
