Ways to fight human trafficking discussed


The National Committee for Combating Human Trafficking held its fifth meeting at their headquarters of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) last Wednesday.
Labour Market Regulatory Authority CEO and Chairman of the National Anti-Human Trafficking Committee, Ausamah bin Abdullah Al Absi briefed the members about the latest development related to the processing of a new shelter for victims of trafficking which is expected to be opened soon.

He pointed out that the centre supervised by the LMRA will provide psychological, legal, social, health and security services to become a one stop to deal with trafficking.

He pointed out that centre will have the cooperation of the Interior Ministry, Health Ministry, Social Development Ministry, and Labour Ministry with the LMRA as well as the Worker’s Protection Society.

Al Absi revealed that the centre would be able to occupy 108 people with the capacity of upgrading when necessary by 50pc, despite the victims in Bahrain not reaching half the number.

He also briefed the members on the training programmes initiated in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime Plan (UNODC).

  1. If Employer is not relieving even after resignation acceptance and employè is ready to pay notice pay amount . Employer Not releasing passport which they captured .
    What to do . Friday we can meet in any LMRA offices or not .if yes what is the Telephone no and person .
