LMRA’s Equal Opportunities Committee met under the chairmanship of the Vice President for Finance and Admin Affairs, Sh. Fawaz Bin Hamad bin Ali Al Khalifa, on Thursday 17th of October 2014 at the LMRA premises. The committee members elected Ms. Hana Al Saffar, Manager for Public Relations and Media, as deputy chairman for the committee as well as discussed the Committees plans for the coming period.
The LMRA Chief Executive Mr. Ausamah bin Abdullah al Absi established the committee for Equal Opportunities at LMRA in line with the Civil Service Bureau’s circular No. 4 for the year 2014 based on the directives from His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa al Khalifa to activate the National Model to incorporate the needs of the Women in providing Equal Opportunities for both genders. This also comes in line with the Directives of HRH the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa to take all measures to execute the Government’s Action Program for 2011-2014 as well as the recommendations of the Supreme Council for Women
Mr. Al Absi stated that establishing this committee pours into support for the Kingdom of Bahrain’s efforts to bolster the principle of equal Opportunity and incorporate the requirements of Women in National programmes within the framework of National Programme for the Progress of the Bahraini Women. The CEO assured that this committee will support the efforts of the Supreme council for Women to implement programmes for creating family stability with in its National endeavor for the progress of Bahraini women in coordination with concerned official bodies.
The Committee will work on the basis of the CEO’s Executive order to set the Rules and standards and plans concerned with implementing Equal Opportunity principles and to achieve the Integration of the needs of the women within the Framework of equal opportunity, as well as to follow up on the implementation and provide consultation in line with the Supreme Council for Women and the Civil Service Bureau.
The committee endeavors to bolster the equal opportunity among its employees with regards to recruitment, training, scholarships, promotions and guarantee the needs of the working women, and improve the work conditions and the work environment for women. It will also overcome the obstacles and difficulties in implementing equal opportunity along with supporting the efforts of the Supreme Council for women and will amplify and announce its efforts in the field of equal opportunity with in the frame work of the National Programme for the Progress of Bahraini women as well as provide equal opportunity for all those who reap the benefits of the services of the LMRA.
The committee comprises the Human Resources Manager Abdul Aziz al Aradi, The Public Relations And Media manager Ms. Hana al Saffar, The supervisor for Market Intelligence Mrs. Rania Hubeishi and supervisor for Budget Control Miss Manar Al Sadeh.
